Busy Day and Good-Byes

We started out the day heading to Marie Sharp’s…Of Course after having Norman’s Cinnamon Rolls!  We took a tour of the facility.  What a great story and it is amazing to see how they run the factory.  Once we got to the Church, we went full force into the tile project.  We worked all day on the project, only taking breaks for lunch and dinner.  After dinner, we cleaned up the grout and finished the entire pre-school.  After the work was done, we had a talent show with our kids and the kids from Pomona.  We had a great time, lasting a couple of hours.  There was so much, Mr. Reynolds had to clear his memory card twice!  Hannah and Keeley MC’d the whole event and did a great job.  I am sure you will all enjoy the videos once you get them.  We ended the night the same way as last night, spending some great time with the Lopez family and then heading off to devotions.  We all said our good-byes to the Lopez family, which is always tough.  A lot of tears were shed as we said good-bye to each of the members of the Lopez family.  We got back to the hotel around 2:00, so we did not do a devotion as everyone is exhausted and emotionally drained.  We plan to have one last one tomorrow and focus on how the trip was and where each of us have set our focuses on coming back home.  We plan on getting one more post out tomorrow morning.

We love you all and thanks for coming along side all of us in this amazing journey that we all have been a part of.

Rewarding

One of the most rewarding things we have done in Belize has been to minister to the people in Bella Vista and Pomona.  In Bella Vista we had a few groups of people head into the village to spread the gospel. Valerie was amazing, she led the teams as she is our only native Spanish speaker. She clearly delivered the word to many people in the village, she even said she was speaking Spanish words she didn’t realize she knew. In Pomona, we did the same, sending out a few groups to minister to them. Once again, we had a very effective time of sharing God’s love with them.  During our Hallelujah night, Keeley felt the Lord impressing on her heart to talk to a group of girls. She had a great conversation with them and one of them accepted the Lord and Keeley led her in a prayer. The Lord has definitely been at work here in Belize and we are so blessed to be a part of what he is doing.

Hallelujah Night In Pomona

Hallelujah Night in Pomona… Today was our day to have our hallelujah night in Pomona. We only had 100 kids come join us, but we had a great time and the kids were very well behaved, which is always a good sign.  One of the coolest things was seeing the kids get their soccer gear that Hannah’s soccer club donated.  Each kid got one piece of clothing, but some of the you also got a pair of cleats.  Everybody also got one of Chelsea’s Bears, which is always a hit.  After Hallelujah night, we picked up some pizzas from Norman’s and had a great dinner with the Lopez family. We took the Lopez family home and the kids wanted to stay, so we stayed for over and hour. We probably could have stayed all night, but we have an early wake up call tomorrow, so we left around 11:00. Devotions for the past few nights have been great, the team has a real sense of vulnerability with each other and are truly enjoy ministering along each other here in Belize.

Marie Sharp’s

On the way to Pomona today, we stopped by Marie Sharp’s in hopes to take a factory tour and buy some hot sauces and jellies…for those parents who don’t know about Marie Sharp’s, you will soon. We were bummed that the factory was not running, but we still were able to buy some product…we actually got a fantastic surprise while in the shop, Marie Sharp herself was there and hung out with our group for some time. The factory will be open tomorrow, so we are going to head there before we start the tile project.
